يمني Yemeni Arabic · Specialist tier
Yemeni Arabic is my mother tongue. I cover the Sana'ani, Ta'izzi, Adeni and Hadhrami varieties, and the differences between them are not cosmetic — they carry information about region and background that can matter directly to an asylum claim.
The UK pool of legal interpreters who genuinely work in Yemeni Arabic is very small. Bookings are routinely filled by speakers of other varieties who can follow the substance but miss the register, and register is exactly what credibility assessments run on.
A Sana'ani speaker answering a serious question will often establish the setting before making the claim, and anchor a date to an event rather than a number. On paper, in English, that reads as a witness circling the question. In context it is how a careful person answers.
Settings covered
- Home Office asylum interviews and IAC tribunal hearings
- Crown Court trials, plea hearings and sentencing
- PACE Code C police interviews and custody
- Remote client conferences by Teams, Zoom or CVP

£65 per hour remote, one-hour minimum, all dialects. £85 per hour in person UK-wide, three-hour minimum. Specialist varieties are not charged at a premium — they are the practice.
