Why dialect matters here especially
Mental state examination depends on nuance — thought form, idiom, affect. A mismatched dialect flattens exactly the detail the tribunal needs to hear. Yemeni and Sudanese patients in particular are routinely assigned generic “Arabic” interpreters; this practice exists to prevent that.
