Modern slavery & trafficking (NRM)

NRM referrals, Reasonable and Conclusive Grounds interviews and s.45 defence work — trauma-informed and scrupulously accurate.

Interpreting for potential victims of trafficking requires patience, neutrality and scrupulous accuracy where an account may be fragmented or distressing to give. Many potential victims from Sudan and Yemen speak dialects that generic Arabic interpreters handle poorly — a specific risk where precise detail decides the case.

Settings covered

  • First responder referrals and safeguarding interviews
  • Reasonable Grounds and Conclusive Grounds interviews
  • Support-provider and outreach appointments
  • Related asylum claims and criminal proceedings (s.45 Modern Slavery Act defence)
  • Trafficking prosecutions — defence or prosecution instruction

CTC cleared, Enhanced DBS, trauma-informed practice under the NRPSI Code of Professional Conduct.

Free 30-minute pre-instruction consultation

Not sure of your client's dialect, or how the logistics will work? A free, no-obligation 30-minute consultation is available to solicitors, barristers and caseworkers to confirm dialect and plan arrangements before you instruct. Case evidence is not discussed outside a formal instruction. Request it here or email bookings@mustafa-ahmed-interpreter.co.uk.
